Shaping the Future of Livestock Traceability | Survey Now Open

The Canadian Cattle Identification Agency (CCIA) wants to hear from producers and livestock industry stakeholders about what they need from the next generation of livestock traceability and information systems.

The Livestock Traceability Survey is your opportunity to share your experiences, challenges and priorities and help identify how future systems can better support the people who use them.

The survey explores areas such as:

• Reducing duplicate data entry and reporting burden
• Making reporting easier and more efficient
• Integration with other livestock management and information systems
• Mobile functionality and automated reporting
• Data privacy, security, governance and sharing
• Tools and information that could provide greater value back to producers and industry
• Priorities for future investment in livestock traceability systems

Whether you use CLTS regularly, occasionally, or interact with other livestock information or record-keeping systems, your perspective is important.

Survey period: September 25 – November 25, 2026
