SCA Announces Update to Director Term Limits

Regina, Saskatchewan (September 21, 2026) With approval from the Agri-Food Council, the Saskatchewan Cattle Association (SCA) Board has implemented a change to the maximum consecutive service permitted for its directors.

Under an updated Board Order, approved August 28, 2026, the maximum consecutive service for SCA directors has increased from six years to up to 10 years or five consecutive two-year terms. Directors must still be elected by levy-paying cattle producers, and extending the maximum term does not guarantee a director will remain on the Board for the full period.

The Board recognizes the importance of both continuity and new producer engagement in the organization. SCA encourages all producers from across Saskatchewan to engage in the association through district meetings, the Annual General Meeting, other industry events, and to consider putting their name forward when nominations open in their district.
